Do You Have a Clue as to Bring to a Party?

It’s hard to know when you are expected to come with gifts. This may not make you the king of the ball, but it’s a little help.
Everyone has a clue that you must bring a gift to a house warming party, don’t you? The shame sets in when you see others bearing a bottle of wine, or fancy wrapped gift. Why do we do this?
It is crucial that when you attend a get-together such as a dinner party, housewarming, or holiday event, you show the party giver that you are appreciative of the time, effort, and money that went into the event. It can never hurt to arrive with a gift. A lot of people bring wine, or liquor to a social gathering, but depending on the event, it’s not always the wisest choice. Unless your guest’s have heart troubles, or have religious beliefs against it, coffee is a sure fire winner. You can purchase excellent gourmet coffees online that are fresh roasted and reasonably priced (avoid stale stuff from the supermarket. If you like the idea of bringing a beverage and wine or coffee aren’t what you have in mind, then seasonal fruit drinks from local produce stands are the next best stand in. I know we’re beating this drink gift thing to death, but you may want to consider fruit teas. They are a sure crowd pleaser, with little to boohoo about. There are so many flavors out there, that the skies the limit. Currently I’m on a raspberry tea kick.
Now that we’ve covered drinks, lets go to solids. The healthy choice is a vegetable platter with a creamy dipping sauce. Don’t just bring everything in a sack. Think artistic presentation! You can purchase a colorful, plastic platter, for very little money. It will make all the difference in the world. It’s always good to think ahead and obtain them on sale and keep a few on hand to give to a host. Make sure you include a card so that they know the dish doesn’t have to be returned to you.
Finally, if you don’t want to bring food or drink, then choose an item the couple, or family can enjoy all at once. A vase of of flowers, a set of handmade cards, custom made pottery, picture frame, or a set of wine glasses, are a few relatively simple gifts that can all be purchased for under .00. Just remember, to be yourself, and don’t let the gift giving prevent you from enjoying the party. You can always bring a hug and a smile! Finally, don’t forget to provide a card! You do want credit for your wonderful gift, don’t you?
