Fancy Footwork is the Base for Good Fencing

The sport of fencing is all about footwork. The ability to move around the floor with ease and confidence is extremely important.
Having the proper fencing shoes is imperative. There are many qualities that a good fencing shoe must have. Light weight shoes are often very comforatble for fencers. Having to carry extra weight around the floor such as heavy fencing shoes would likely interfere with the fencers need to move quickly and freely.
Balance is also a very important aspect of fencing. If the fencer were to wear shoes with a heel, it would make the sport of fencing very difficult. Proper balance could only be maintained wearing flat fencing shoes. Traction would also make the fencers balance better. Fencing tournaments are often on slick floors, so footwear that provides good traction is a must.
Another issue of importance regarding fencing shoes would be flexibility. With the fencer making quick, sudden movements, it would be nice to have a fencing shoe that works with them. Flexibility is important in the sport of fencing concerning all movements such as hand movements and of course moving the feet. The ability to float in and out of distance at the right time often is the difference between winning and losting a bout. Flexible fencing shoes would make this movement much easier.
In the sport of fencing, a match is determined by points. If a fencing match is lengthily, comfortable fencing shoes would surely be appreciated by the fencer. No matter which type of sport an athlete is involved in, shoes are extremely important. Specialty shoes (like for basketball or soccer) are built with the movements of that sport in mind. Such is the case with fencing. The importance of good shoes is common knowledge to the avid fencer. Give a fencer the wrong type of shoe and theyd likely find it very difficult to play the sport the way it is intended to be played. Good fencing shoes won’t win a match, but they allow the athlete to perform at their best. To perform at their best, fencers need the proper equipment for their sport, starting with the right shoes.
